Now Accepting Sealed Bid - Timbering/Logging
The City of Durand accepting bids for harvesting timber on three (3) city owned parcels within the city limits.
To meet landowner objectives, the purpose of this sale is to improve wildlife habitat, increase forest resilience, and maintain forest health.
A bid opening will be held at 3pm on Monday, August 17th, 2026 at Durand City Hall - 104 E Main St. The City of Durand, in cooperation with the forester, will choose a contractor based upon the answers in the questionnaire on the prospectus (below). The successful bidder may or may not have the highest bid.
The standard DNR Timber Sale Contract template will be used.
This project will be administered using a mill scale style sale. A three-part haul ticket system will be provided by Dahlby Conservation Services, LLC. All loads must be recorded by placing a completed haul ticket in the ticket box prior to hauling, final financial reconciliation will be based on mill scale slips and contracted price per ton. Cordwood weight conversion factors in the DNR Timber Sale Handbook will be used to convert mill scale weights to cords.
A down-payment of $ 1,000 will be required upon contract signing. The down payment will be credited towards stumpage.
A $ 3,000 performance bond is required prior to commencement of any on-site operations. The bond can be a check, letter of credit, or other form approved by Dahlby Conservation Services, LLC and The City of Durand.
