Will be there any new charges on my bill?
Yes!
All water customers will see a Public Fire Protection charge on their utility bill. This charge is to maintain and support fire hydrants, upsizing water mains and pumps to support fire suppression throughout the city. This charge does NOT support the fire department, staff or equipment.
NOTE: This charge is currently on the general property tax levy and is paid for through property taxes. It is being removed from the property taxes and placed on the utility bills.
The new Public Fire Protection charge will be approximately $10/month for typical residential properties.
